Hiii, hello! We’ve made it to season two, aka one of my top favorite seasons. (although I always forget how much I like season one as well) So oops if I say “I love this episode” at the start of every letter.
But for real- I forgot how good this episode is.
We pick up where we left off- Rachel waiting for Ross at the airport, only to find him arriving with Julie, Phoebe giving Monica a haircut, and Joey realizing that that is not, in fact, how they do pants.
We’ve got a lot to cover, (you should’ve seen my notes) so let’s dive in!
We start off on the same night as the end of season one’s finale, so Rachel is in her same detachable skirt look, only this time she’s added a new accessory- the zebra print band-aid. I have so many questions about this. Where did she get it? Did Julie have a zebra print band-aid on hand? Did Rachel? In any case, I want all my bandages to look like that, thanks!
We have Phoebe in a flowy little fit consisting of a skirt and a top tied at the waist. It looks like chambray, a more lightweight version of denim, and I love the way it kind of flows into the skirt.

Keeping with the denim-y theme is her spaghetti strap dress with a matching scrunchie. I feel like this dress is reminiscent of one she’s worn previously, but I couldn’t find the evidence for it. It’s just such a ~Phoebe~ look!
On another Phoebe note, I feel like we have to take a moment to mourn the loss of her curly hair. It was fading towards the end of season one, and by this season it’s all but peaced out. It’s not that I don’t think she looks good with straight hair, it’s just I feel like curly hair is a part of Phoebe’s character, ya know? I couldn’t find a definitive answer as to why, but Richard Marin- the show’s lead hairstylist- said that as Phoebe’s character evolved, so did her hair. Which I get, I just don’t think she’d totally ditch her curls.
We’ve seen Monica in a version of this outfit multiple times, yet she makes it looks like a whole new one every time. She wears her signature watch with this one, as well.
I noticed a parallel in Rachel and Chandler both wearing embordered name shirts, which I thought was cool.
Chandler’s says ‘Spike’ and Rachel’s is ‘Tease.’ So there’s that.

Other Thoughts
It looks like Rachel’s skirt here has belt loops around it that are cut in a way to show a bit of skin, and I don’t hate it.
When Monica says to Phoebe, “The last time Paulo was here my hair was so much shorter and cuter,” ummmm it wasn’t really shorter, Mon…. In fact it may have been a little longer?
Okay, Ross’ shirt tucked into the jeans look? SO GOOD. No notes.

I did a little re-brand of the logo and I think it captures the essence of the newsletter a little more, so I hope you like!

So many tucked-in shirts! Loved this, as always, Kaeleen. 💕
